BikeWind respects user privacy and limits data processing to the minimum necessary for the app and website to work.
The app does not require an account or login. BikeWind does not collect a name, email address or other data identifying the user.
BikeWind does not profile users and does not use data for advertising.
The controller of data related to the BikeWind website and app is the BikeWind project owner.
Privacy matters can be sent through the contact form available on the BikeWind website.
To provide the service, BikeWind may process technical information: anonymous app installation identifier, app version, information about Strava connection, and country and city determined from the IP address.
This data is used only to maintain the service, diagnose technical issues and develop the app.
The app may use device location to show weather, wind and route planning features.
When using the route generator, location and details needed to calculate the route are sent to the route-generation service.
Location sent to the route generator may be recorded in diagnostic logs to maintain service reliability and diagnose technical issues. It is not used for marketing or user profiling.
Location access can be disabled by the user in the device system settings.
Imported GPX and FIT files, saved routes and activity data are stored locally on the user's device.
BikeWind does not store this data on its servers.
Connecting the app with Strava is optional.
If the user connects the app with their Strava account, BikeWind gets access only to data necessary for the import feature.
The connection can be disconnected at any time in the app or through Strava account settings.
The app uses Open-Meteo to retrieve weather and wind data.
Weather requests are sent directly from the user's device to Open-Meteo servers, without going through BikeWind servers.

The BikeWind website does not use analytics, advertising or marketing tools that require cookie consent.
Therefore, the website does not display a cookie consent banner.
In cases provided by applicable law, the user may request access to their data, correction, deletion, restriction of processing or object to processing.

This privacy policy may be updated when app functionality, external services or legal requirements change.
